Our frog prince
In 2012, an Ecuadorian stream frog was named 'Hyloscirtus Princecharlesi' in honour of the then Prince of Wales. Holding his namesake: He has come a long way since then. Is this 'Hyloscirtus Kingcharlesi'? All of this talk of frogs is reminding me of Pepe the Frog, and the Egyptian God Kek:

Kek is a primordial god, meaning a chaos deity. In other words, a deity that existed before the ordering and organising of the universe. You see ordering of the universe in Genesis 1, as a point of fact.
I need to brush up on my Egyptian Mythology, it seems.

Frog bike for the coronation
This is an interesting coincidence: Just took a quick look at the company. It is one I have never heard of, and it looks like it might just be a child bike company. Still, an interesting coincidence.

More leafleting by Republic UK
I have been trying to identify a master plan or even some kind of system behind the current leafleting campaign. They are targetting the 'freshers' at Northumbria and Newcastle universities in the next few days. They will also be handing out leaflets in Hull, York and Nottingham. They are not operating just up north though: they will be at Vauxhall Station on Friday.

Republicans protest inside Buckingham Palace
Tours of parts of the Palace are available to the public during the summer months. Tomorrow is the final open day this year. Today Republic UK activists had a good idea: We had a Republic with Cromwell. How big a success was that, again? Doctor David Starkey sums it up perfectly: whenever a group overthrow the current ruling system, they invariably adopt a much worse version of what they overthrew in the first place.

But we need to ask: why this sudden push to make us a republic? It seems to have ramped up suddenly.

Why the big push for a republic now?
The Queen's death probably has something to do with it, with Prince Charles and Camilla not being so popular. The behaviour of Princes Andrew and Harry is a gift to the anti-monarchy brigade. The cost of the coronation at a time when the cost of living was soaring is probably a factor too.

More coronation merchandise
I was not very impressed with much of the coronation memorabilia, but a few items were worth a mention. I missed these cornflakes at the time:

Nae king: another anti-monarchy slogan
#NotMyKing is not a bad slogan, but there are others. Terry Pratchett, whose anti-monarchy views have been featured here, created a good one for his Wee Free Men, the Mac Nac Feegle:

Closing the Royal Succession thread was the right thing to do. We can carry on speculating here about whether or not the monarchy will survive. Irish Republican and Socialist James Conolly said this over 100 years ago:

Closing the Royal Succession thread was the right thing to do. We can carry on speculating here about whether or not the monarchy will survive. Irish Republican and Socialist James Conolly said this over 100 years ago: I don't like closing threads, but that was one time where it made sense. What does not make sense, is us becoming a republic. It is clear that those pushing it have an ill thought out position, because they have not stated what type of Republic they believe we should be. Who replaces the monarch as head of state, and how to we get them? How long are the terms, and are there term limits? What are the upper and lower legislative Chambers going to be like? Just there, I have put more thought into the matter than they have. And if they get their way, they could easily collapse the United Kingdom. I see a lot of parallels with not just the end of the Roman Empire, but also Sub Roman Britain. So you could see the vreaking up of each country into smaller units of governance, most likely with Kings and Queens of some description. They should delve more into history, and learn from what has happened before. Then they might have a more considered and articulate argument to make. As it stands now...

“We all need a hobby... Piers prefers protests to coin and stamp collecting, it seems.” This is really funny! I have by mistake posted the WEF pictures of him several times! Piers Corbyn appears in many posts in the Brexit thread, but this picture of him with the Queen in 1969 belongs here:

Tomorrow's 'Not My King' protest
The State Opening of Parliament takes place tomorrow morning. Republic UK has asked supporters to get to the area early and wear yellow. They had hoped to gather in the centre of Parliament Square but that will be closed. I wonder how many will come. They may need to compete for space with other activists, Just Stop Oil for example. From a protest in the Parliament area earlier this year:

Just how much power and influence do they have? And how long have they been influencing things on any level?

Because it has to cost a lot to keep doing this sort of activity. George Soros, have you been handing money about again?

“The real question... where does the money come from to fund all of these protests? Because it has to cost a lot to keep doing this sort of activity.“ The money for travel expenses and printing the leaflets they hand out certainly must come from somewhere. Republic UK also has some paid staff. They do get some money legitimately! They charge from £3 a month or £25 a year for membership. They also sell T-shirts, books, mugs and other merchandise. Their articles of association permit them to invest money and take out loans. You have to pay to get their detailed financial information from Companies House. From today's demonstration, where there were loud boos and chants from an estimated 500 protesters:

But the anti monarchy stuff has really ramped up since Charles was crowned. It was never on this level with Elizabeth... which means they are clearly seizing opportunities now present. It also makes you wonder what the Deep State goal is here. What are they wanting as a replacement?

The King, the knife and the cake
King Charles was 75 yesterday. He hosted a party at Highgrove House. There was yet another cake on show, this time a gold and white one:
