Royal Borax advertisements
Borax is a mineral salt, a white powder that was a laundry staple for the Victorians. It is now banned in the UK. Borax was used to soften water, and Borax Starch was used to make material firmer and glossier after washing. Here Queen Victoria is saying, “How beautiful he looks.” Her daughter Princess Beatrice replies, “Yes, it is all on account of our using Borax in his bath.”

Oats and boot blacking for the Jubilee
Two advertisements for common household products mention Queen Victoria's 1897 Diamond Jubilee. One is amusing; the other has a clever play on words. Porridge oats and Queen Victoria safeguard the constitution! This one contains many caricatures of male members of the royal family, who get to work polishing a boot while some female members look on:

Young and old Queen Victoria in advertisements
This advert for mustard mentions the year 1837, the start of Queen Victoria's reign: Queen Victoria in 1897 with some of the next generations of her family:

England's gift: Queen Victoria hands out cooking stoves
There are several messages and many racial stereotypes in this advertisement for cooking stoves. At first I thought that people were presenting the cookers to Queen Victoria, but she is bestowing them on a grateful world!

Queen Victoria and American tobacco
Queen Victoria and some royal symbols were used in an advertisement for 'Honest Long Cut' tobacco. It is “quite English you know”:

Two more royal jubilee advertisements
Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee of 1897 was mentioned in many advertisements. It still seem strange to see her portrait in connection with mundane items such as soap and matches:

Tea and crackers for King Edward
King Edward VII succeeded Queen Victoria as the royal attraction in advertisements for household products. Here he is being used to sell tea and crackers:

Coronation custard and current day cigars
The custard advertisement comes from 1902, King Edward VII's coronation year. Edward VII smoked 12 cigars a day. The cigars named after him are very popular and are still being sold.

The smoking Prince of Wales
George V appeared in fewer advertisements than did Queen Victoria and Edward VII. His son and heir the future Edward VIII appeared in even fewer. As Prince of Wales his picture was used mainly to sell cigarettes and pipes:

The royal Victorian Christmas tree
It was Prince Albert who popularised the German tradition of decorating a tree at Christmas in the UK. He and Queen Victoria would bring a tree into Windsor Castle on Christmas Eve and decorate it themselves. This engraving from 1848 helped to spread the custom:

Sinister souvenirs
Tourists and monarchists have many options when it comes to buying royal merchandise. Much of it is 'tourist tat' and much of it is very expensive. Some of the products are much better made than others. These models of Princes William and Harry look rather strange:

Andrew Carnegie's tribute to Queen Victoria
As mentioned elsewhere, Andrew Carnegie hoped to see an English Republic. However, when visiting the UK in 1902, he made what was at the time a very generous contribution towards Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee Fund, which was still open:

Andrew Carnegie, King Edward VII and Kaiser Wilhelm II
From Avacyn in response to a post about Andrew Carnegie's support for a republic in the UK: “Carnegie has some blood on his hands. Some worker protests and strikes ended up with bloodshed. He also worked people hard for very low pay.” “There is quite the checkered past for Carnegie.” On the other side, public libraries founded with his money enhanced and transformed the lived of huge numbers of people. He did far more for me than any schools and teachers ever did! Anyway, he seems to have changed his mind about the monarchy, and he also tried to prevent a major war and the associated bloodshed. As a committed pacifist, he financed an attempt to broker a peace deal between King Edward VII and Kaiser Wilhelm, using former US President Theodore Roosevelt as the intermediary. This came to nothing, especially after Edward VII died. The two royal heads of state:

Queen Victoria and the 'disgusting little frogs'
Frogs have been mentioned in many threads, as has Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, the former home of the Sussexes. “The cottage was originally named Double Garden Cottage, but it earned its current name thanks to the unusual number of frogs living in this low lying, marshy spot close to the River Thames. In 1875 Queen Victoria commented in her diaries on the “immense number of little frogs” she saw while breakfasting at the cottage. She described the spectacle as “quite disgusting … the paths had to be swept over and over again”.” www.standard.co.uk/homesandproperty/celebrity-homes/frogmore-cottage-things-to-know-prince-harry-meghan-home-b1064346.htmlQueen Victoria at Frogmore circa 1893:
