Prince Harry, blue and orange
He visited the Leeds Children’s Hospital earlier this year. There is blue and orange in many of the pictures. The curtains remind me of the blue & orange London Bridge shirt:

Benedict Cumberbatch in blue and orange
Actor Benedict Cumberbatch has associations with red hair, history, the royal family, Richard III and Sherlock Holmes; here it is the blue and orange that are of interest. Clothes and background: Portrait by SadieB798 on Deviant Art:
“ Benedict Cumberbatch - blue/orangeGosh! I can't believe a whole year has gone by since I've done these! This was done as a class project to find a celebrity, do a portrait of them and use complementary colors to paint them. Obviously I chose Benedict Cumberbatch, and chose to use a scene from Sherlock as my portrait. These were super fun to do, I should try and do some more one day.” sadieb798.deviantart.com/art/Benedict-Cumberbatch-blue-orange-537579682The artist calls it blue and orange - maybe the blue has not reproduced too well!

It started off on another forum, when we started looking at the film Four Weddings and a Funeral. With references to Ecclesiastical purple, and heathen orange, as I recall. Yes, it started with the oranges. They got into many other threads. Here is the quote that first got our attention. It is from just after the first wedding: Which was such a bizarre statement to make, we became puzzled. Of course, it was really a message hidden in plan sight. Who for? I don't think we ever got an answer to that.

I personally have not encountered the term, but I could see if I could find something, if you wish. I was just wondering whether you had ever discussed getting inside a completely alien mind-set with any of your fellow writers. If not, there are much more important things to do. I believe that this term was first used by games creators etc. around 2009. No, I'm afraid. Certainly not in terms of Blue and Orange! And games creators... interesting. It would likely explain why I've not heard of it before. Different circles of interaction.

Sherlock Holmes and some significant titles
The following Sherlock Holmes stories have relevant colours in their titles: The Five Orange Pips, The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle, The Red-Headed League, A Study in Scarlet. Two of them appear in the list of Arthur Conan Doyle's favourite stories that he published in The Strand Magazine in 1927. Someone has made a poster from Conan Doyle's list: The blue wheel reminds me of the poster for the play Blue/Orange

The associations and connections continue.
Blue/orange morality is one thing. I learned only recently that red hair with blue eyes is the rarest combination. IRA leader Martin McGuinness had both; he is featured on the red hair thread wearing a blue & orange shirt. Charlotte Coleman, Scarlett in the film, had red hair...

I'm hoping to get a thread going at some point on her. She's been quite an eye opener before, and I feel that is important to continue with.

Didn't we find out that Pixie Geldof's name was a type of orange, UnseenI ? You have a good memory! Yes, a 'Pixie' was a local name for a small orange. Nothing blue/orange though. There was a lot of original information and connections about oranges, Peaches etc. on the old forum; it would be good to reproduce some of it. Organisation would be a bit of a nightmare: some of it would go better in an article than in a series of small posts... there just isn't enough time to do everything and salvage other people's old posts.

Blue and orange in films “The trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was released on Sunday, in which it was revealed that the film has been shot in two colors. We've broken it down shot by shot below and explained the reason why this keeps happening… Hollywood has decided to simplify, and all future movies will be light blue and orange. You may remember that we previously pointed this out as one of the annoying trends that make every movie look the same.” www.cracked.com/quick-fixes/why-new-hunger-games-movie-orange-blue/"Maybe you haven’t noticed, but in the past 20-or-so years there’s been a real catchy trend in major Hollywood movies to constrain the palette to orange and blue. The color scheme, also known as “orange and teal” or “amber and teal” is the scourge of film critics – one of whom calls this era of cinema a “dark age.” imgur.com/gallery/qHnYL

More blue and orange London Bridge connections
Eight people died and 48 were injured at London Bridge in June. The people connected with the attack are good examples of blue/orange morality in real life. Khuram Shazad Butt, the terrorist who had access to tunnels under central London, and two notorious extremist Islamist preachers who appeared with Khuram Butt in a documentary: Construction workers and others lay tributes:

Cherie Blair’s sister speaks after the London Bridge attack
She blamed drugs not Islam for the terrorist attacks at Westminster Bridge and London Bridge. It is her clothes rather than her views that are of interest here: “Lauren Booth appeared on This Morning claiming that the cause of the recent spate of terror attacks was because of drugs and not Islam religion. The half sister of former Prime Minister Tony Blair's wife Cherie, 49, who converted to Islam in 2010 following the breakdown of her first marriage, blamed the atrocities on 'young, disenfranchised drug addicts'. 'The Westminster bomber was known to take drugs...the Tunisia bomber took drugs, the Paris attacker took drugs,' Lauren claimed. Dame Judi Dench in blue and orange
A very good picture of Judi Dench – as herself for once: Much of the filming of her film Victoria and Abdul was done at Osborne House, the holiday home of Victoria and Albert on the Isle of Wight. This film is being used in a new campaign to attract tourists to the island: www.iwcp.co.uk/news/news/victoria-initiative-to-increase-tourism-315955.aspx

Charles Fort mosaic
This is in Kinsale, Ireland. It has no connection with Charles Fort the writer on unexplained phenomena: it is at and of Charles Fort, which was once a stronghold that protected Kinsale Harbour from a possible French invasion. It was named after King Charles II.

People might argue this is red. It looks vermillion to me, which is a reddish orange. I wonder if hues and shades have addition significance? Good finds, UnseenI, by the way.

Yes, there are many shades of orange and orange/red. They may well look different on different devices too.
