Many examples of raised arms were posted on the old CC forum. Some of them have been reproduced here on various threads. We also speculated about the possible significance of this signal, which could be the Masonic Distress Signal, an Ancient Egyptian sign of worship - sun worship in particular, a sign of celebration, a sign of greeting, waving to attract attention, a request for protection, physical exercise, a performance of magic, a way of displaying jubilation and enjoyment ... perhaps it depends on the context and whether or not the arms are bent at the elbow! This picture was taken a few days after the General Election in which she had a greatly reduced majority. It is said to be an out-of-synch Mexican Wave: she got her timing wrong in more ways than one! It it is quite a coincidence that it resembles a distress signal:
