Bavaria and Cornwall; white and blue, blue and white
Who would have thought that Cornwall and Bavaria had so many elements in common! The Arthurian legends are just the start of the connections. We have seen the sky colours blue and white on the flag and coat of arms. There is more to come. ‘Weiss und blau’ is mentioned in the old Bavarian anthem: Dass mit Deutschlands Bruderstämmen einig uns ein jeder schau und den alten Ruhm bewähre unser Banner, weiss und blau! Weiss/Blau is also the name of a Bavarian magazine for holidaymakers, tourists and travellers: Cornwall has many more local products than Cornish pasties and Cornish ice cream. Cornishware is classic kitchen ware made from Cornish clay. The blue and white stripes make it instantly recognisable; the colours are said to have been inspired by the sky:

Take a break or slow down if you need to. It is not possible to investigate many topics. I do hope that your family problems get better. The Jacobites have no direct connection with Cornwall that I know of, apart from giving the title Duke of Cornwall to whoever is the heir apparent to whoever they say is the rightful king of Great Britain! One thing I must mention is the Bavarian Illuminati! Yes i shall. I am going slow now. After charles birthday i will take a break from posting. My family issues are better now thanks for your support unseeni. If you follow queens mary of france and of scots, we find she took over devon. It seems control over Cornwall gave a monarch legitimacy to say king of UK. Cornwall I believe is semi independent even now. I will read more about the jacobites. UnseenI please don’t start with illuminati. I wont take a break and will start researching! Its a big temptation and i have done some research on it. But am too drained to go there. Next year i will join you on this topic.

Queen Victoria and Bavaria
Coburg, where Queen Victoria’s beloved husband Prince Albert was born, is in what is now Bavaria. Her mother was born there too. Victoria loved the place: “The monarch confided to her diary during one visit: ‘If I weren't the person who I am, my home would be here.’ During the course of her reign she travelled to the German duchy seven times - no mean feat when you consider the journey could take up to two weeks... there is little doubt she would have spent yet more time there but for Disraeli's reminder: ‘Your Majesty, you cannot rule the Empire from Coburg.’" www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/germany/bavaria/716955/Bavaria-Victorias-other-love.htmlIn her visit of 1845, she met Ludwig I and his son Luitpold, who later became the Prince Regent. She was back 20 years later on a very sad occasion: “Queen Victoria (centre left in black) unveiling the statue of Prince Albert, Prince Consort in the Marketplace at Coburg, Bavaria, Germany, then the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, 16 August 1865“

Cake: Cornwall and Bavaria
Camilla, Duchess of Cambridge is as we have seen a great consumer of cake. The Cornish invention the hevva or heavy cake may be too plain for her: Luitpold the Prince Regent of Bavaria was the inspirer of what sounds like a delicious chocolate layered cake. From WiKi: Prinzregententorte is a Bavarian torte consisting of at least six, usually seven, thin layers of sponge cake interlaid with chocolate buttercream and a topping of apricot jam upon the very last. The exterior is covered in a dark chocolate glaze. The Prinzregententorte is very popular in Bavaria, available in cake shops all year round.

Just do what feels best and research what interests you the most.
I will keep to my goal of a minimum of two posts per day. I also try to produce material or at least connections that can't be found in many other places. I don't think that we could find much original information about the Bavarian Illuminati!

Cornish and Bavarian Christmas meals
“…this is like Christmas for me.” By coincidence, I had just found some horrible examples of Cornish and Bavarian Christmas food when you said that. I was going to save them until nearer the time, but as you have mentioned Christmas Lavendel I will reveal them now. I am not sure who wins this particular war. Stargazy pie has pilchards or sardines looking up at the sky. There is a story that it was invented as a Christmas dish at time when there was a famine in a small Cornish town and there was nothing but fish to eat: I wouldn’t expect Bavarians to have the same typical Christmas dinner that many people have here, but this ‘Bavarian Christmas dinner’ I found looks awful:

However of regular family meals for men is beer and roasted pig meat, mashed potatoes made into round balls with fillings and red cabbage. Queen Victoria’s lilac and green stamps
Stamps were issued in Queen Victoria’s reign in similar colours to the lavender and green that have appeared in many posts. From WiKi: “The postage stamps of the United Kingdom issued in 1883 and 1884 are known as the “Lilac and Green” issue because they were only printed in those two colours… The colours were used because the authorities were concerned that the existing stamps were being soaked off envelopes and reused, and they wished to use fugitive inks that would wash away if immersed in water; the only fugitive ink colours available at the time were lilac and green… Due to the fugitive nature of the ink, many surviving examples of the green stamps have lost their original colour following soaking to remove them from paper; the examples that still have good colour are the most sought after by philatelists…” A faded collection and two better specimens:

The heart of King Ludwig II of Bavaria
References to hearts appear in many posts. Thomas Markle connections are of particular interest. Samantha Markle has mentioned ‘King of Hearts’ several times, including in this cryptic comment I quoted from her Twitter: “Great parody on the application and assimilation of social labels and social interaction ‘The King of Hearts’” By coincidence, Ludwig II of Bavaria has also been called the King of Hearts: “Rarely had Ludwig been seen as crown prince, and when the people saw him now, they went raving mad about him. The young man had such regal bearing that it captured the hearts all of who saw him. Three days after the funeral he wrote a letter …’ I carry my heart to the throne, a heart which beats for my people and which glows for their welfare, all Bavarians may be assured of that.’” nevermore.tripod.com/ludwig.htmlHis heart has a home of its own: The hearts of the Bavarian Kings are located in the small chapel of the Black Madonna in town of Altötting. Here the Golden Cup holding the heart of King Ludwig II of Bavaria 1845-1886 is shown:

Cornwall, wolfram, hearts and the Holy Grail
The post about Ludwig II’s heart being stored in a golden cup in the chapel of the Black Madonna has reminded me of some legends and connections. It would take ages to go into detail and there is a huge amount of material available online, so here is a quick summary: Black Madonna: Holy Grail connections! Golden Cup: Holy Grail connections! The Holy Grail has been called a symbol of the human heart. Hearts were stored in heart-shaped funerary vases in ancient Egypt. There is a legend that Joseph of Arimathea and maybe even Jesus too visited Britain. He is said to have brought the Holy Grail with him, and Glastonbury in the south west of Britain is often given as the place he came to. It all seems like invention, embroidery, Chinese whispers and wishful thinking to me, but just look at this Lavendel : The Reverend Sabine Baring-Gould recounted a Cornish story how Joseph of Arimathea came in a boat to Cornwall, and brought the child Jesus with him, and the latter taught him how to extract the tin and purge it of its wolfram. Could this be symbolic in some way? Getting the wolfram/tungsten (Meghan) out of the tin (the royal family especially the Cornwall branch?) Arriving at Cornwall and with the Holy Grail:

Wolfram, tin and Cornwall again Lavendel you posted some background information about wolfram/tungsten shortly after the story about Prince Charles calling Meghan ‘tungsten’ came out. This lead to all kinds of connections - to Wagner, Bavaria and the Holy Grail for example. To get back to the basic metal, wolfram has associations with Cornwall, where by coincidence there are large deposits! Tin mining was one of Cornwall’s major industries. It seems that for a while wolfrarn was just seen as an unwanted nuisance that contaminated the purity of the tin. Later it was seen to have it uses and became in great demand. Castle-an-Dinas Mine, near St Austell in Cornwall, was the only mine in the country where wolfram was the sole ore produced. The modern Castle-an-Dinas Mine next to the iron-age Castle-an-Dinas hill fort, and some of the mine’s modern extraction machinery - very different from anything Joseph of Arimathea might have used:

UnseenI if what you found was opera i could say you are hitting the highest notes. You just cracked a da vinci code or hit the gold mine! Wow amazing connection. You will need a bunker soon cause there is so much in this connection. I guess that is what my dreams were pointing at. We found the da vinci code and now they will track us down. Wow. I will follow your trail. But i will not post as i have to take that break. Keep on the good work !😀😇 —————— There definitely a double meaning in that: i have been following meghans position innthe court. Harrys red hair, the many blues and green dresses meg wore in the past. At the moment she is wearing blue. But the black dress with capes she wore at the white hall balcony has the same style of dresses stella mac is exhibiting and they all resemble the uniforms of the top women of the handmaids tale. She is like higher placed. For her to be the hostess for our first lady points to a higher placement in a secret hierarchy. At the same event they dressed kate in the black, red, white gold masonic colours which are used when once’s programming and alters start to crash and conflict and in the handmaids tale the military style was of lower ranked guards ; who looked transgender, & forced the maids to serve the blue dressed high class women. I think on the balcony a message was being communicated of the new order. In regards to wolfram; I have read about the colours maybe they may help lead us to answers: “Tribes of israel and joseph line ——————- The 12 tribes of Israel (Jacob's sons) were: Asher, Benjamin, Dan, Gad, Issachar, Joseph, Judah, Levi, Naphtali, Reuben, Simeon and Zebulun. Thus, the somewhat abbreviated biblical lineage through Isaac's side, below, is: Adam (circa 3999 B.C.)...Father of Seth Noah (circa 2944 B.C.)...Father of Shem, Japheth and Ham, all of whom went forth from the Ark. Ham ......................................Father of Canaan Canaan .................................Father of Sidon Abraham (circa 2100 B.C.)... Father of Isaac Isaac .....................................Father of Jacob Jacob (circa 2000 B.C.)...Father of Asher, Benjamin, Dan, Gad, Issachar, Joseph, Judah, Levi, Naphtali, Reuben, Simeon and Zebulun Simon-Sez: For those of the Christian faith, Jesus Christ is a direct descendant from Isaac's bloodline. Hiram Abif was a man of Tyre, Lebanon (Phoenicia) believed to have come from the tribe of Naphtali. “ Cornwall, wolfram, hearts and the Holy Grail

And Rachel and David have hebrew connections . Joseph a relative of jesus is believed to have found the cup used by jesus at last supper and he carried it to france as he feld with mary magdalene and jesus daughter princess sarah. He brought the cup to Europe and it was buried at glasstone bury according to some tales. However some German researchers followed it to a church in cave in spain which parcival and Arthurs knights went looking for. I recently watched the would documentary of them following all the legends to spain . Indeed in the cave church there was a safe with cup. However the original is in museum of mordern art in New York. Some believe its a fake. However the found out the cup in spain had the blood of jesus. So Arthurs court is in spain? Could it be thats why Ludwig wanted his heart in safe in a church so there is a legend over him. Others claim Ludwigs decedant had an affair arthurs mother and arthur was born. Explains the parcival tale of half blood prince and full blood prince and the green mantle is Joseph of Middleeast? With blood of jesus cup ? All tbis tales. Arthur whats is in a name? ———— The middletons have taken the name Arthur and William as their own so that means meg and harry cannot name their child Arthur. That means they are not new camelot? Was middletons evil plan to destroy their camelot plot. Arthur, Michael, William, mathews are all major names which Sussexes could have taken. Are the middletons and William claiming they are the real new camelot. They have four people named Arthur in their court now. George, William, Charles, Louis and middleton baby are fighting to be the real camelots. Its all getting complicated by the day.

Green at Westminster Abbey yesterday
Theresa May’s necklace had beautiful big bright green ‘jewels’. Unfortunately, although they looked like emeralds on TV, they look dark in pictures. Kate’s coat in dark green looks good: I noticed too that kate and may wore green. I think there is hierarchy in order of a secret group. It that group the green represents something. I noticed the Westminster service was very symbolic. Queen wore lavender. In that order Meghan wears blue as well as royal princess . Just like at Eugenie wedding meg wore blue where kate wore red pink. I think in some secret order meg is higher in hierarchy when in churches; I really dont know what . But in the movie hand maids tales; the higher hierarchy’s the woman she wears a blue coat or dress which mirrors the queen and cate is portrayed as the military bride in military style coat. Co

Lavendel I agree that the completely unexpected wolfram/Cornwall/Holy Grail connection is a high point in this thread. It is amazing. Glastonbury and glass stone ... Theresa May wore a necklace with bright red stones yesterday. I have a lot to read, investigate and catch up with now.

King Arthur and the Castle-an-Dinas hillfort
The previously-mentioned Castle-an-Dinas wolfram mine in Cornwall took its name from the nearby Castle-an-Dinas Iron Age hillfort. This typical fortified earthworks with rampart and ditch has Arthurian connections: “Castle-an-Dinas is one of the largest and most impressive hillforts in Cornwall, sited in an imposing position on the summit of Castle Downs with extensive and panoramic views across central Cornwall to both north and south coasts. It features in Cornish legend as one of the seats of the Duke of Cornwall and folklore has it that Cador, Duke of Cornwall, and Ygraine, King Arthur’s mother were killed here.“ “Traditionally, Castle an Dinas is the hunting lodge of King Arthur, from which he rode in the Tregoss Moor hunt...” www.historic-cornwall.org.uk/a2m/iron_age/hillfort/castle_an_dinas/castle_an_dinas.htmwww.cornwallheritagetrust.org/our-sites/castle-an-dinas/

Bavaria and Cornwall: clay deposits and blue and white pottery
Yet another unexpected connection between these two very different places: Just as Cornwall is known for its everyday kitchenware essentials, Bavaria is known for exquisite fine china. Kaolin clay is needed in the making of fine white china. Bavaria has one of the few huge kaolin deposits outside of France and China. By coincidence, St. Austell in Cornwall has the world’s largest deposits of china clay, a powdery material similar to kaolin. Unlike Cornishware, the ornate, high-quality Bavarian products come in many colours; they are also expensive and fragile. They are collectible and many pieces come up for auction. I found some blue and white Bavarian examples for comparison with their Cornish striped equivalents. Here are two very different tea sets: Bavaria Tea Set for 6, w/ Sugar & Creamer Dishes, Blue & White Mini Stein, Tiled Trivet, Royal Sphinx Maastricht Plate, and Small Tureen Two blue and white collections. The Bavarian set is called ‘Strawflower’:

Richard Burton, King Arthur and Camelot the musical
Yet another link between the actor Richard Burton and the Arthurian legends is the musical Camelot, in which he played King Arthur in the original 1960 stage production. From WlKI: “The show's original cast recording was favorite bedtime listening for President John F. Kennedy… Kennedy's favorite lines were in the final number (in which Arthur knights a young boy and tells him to pass on the story of Camelot to future generations): Don't let it be forgot That once there was a spot, For one brief, shining moment That was known as Camelot. Since then, Camelot has been associated with the Kennedy Administration”

Trematon Castle: a big Cornish attraction
Trematon Castle is near Saltash in south east Cornwall, close to the River Tamar and just across from Devon on the other side. It was established on the ruins of a Roman fort soon after the Norman Conquest. The castle has remained the property of the Earls and Dukes of Cornwall without interruption since 1270, when Earl Richard of Cornwall (the previously mentioned ‘King of the Germans’) bought it for £300. Trematon Castle is owned by Prince Charles’s Duchy of Cornwall and is now open to the public. It consists of a beautiful Regency manor house, some gardens and the remains of the Norman castle. The views are spectacular. These pictures from the DM speak for themselves:

Trematon Castle and two famous visitors
There was no official Duke of Cornwall during the reign of Elizabeth I. This story from WiKi suggests that she controlled the Duchy herself: “When Sir Francis Drake returned from his circumnavigation voyage in 1580, he came into harbour in Plymouth, then slipped out to anchor behind St Nicholas Island until word came from Queen Elizabeth's Court for the treasures he had gathered to be stored in Trematon Castle. The hoard consisted of gold, silver, and precious stones, mainly emeralds, the result of piracy from Spanish ships along the west coast of South America.” Emeralds again! George IV visited the house in 1812, when he was still the Duke of Cornwall. This pool was later built to commemorate his visit; the cute little dome that reminds me of Prinny’s Brighton Pavilion:

The two Trematon Viscounts
Just as there was only ever one Duke of Sussex before the title was awarded to Prince Harry, only two men have ever been created Viscount Trematon. There is no obvious connection to Trematon Castle or even to Cornwall in either case, however both men came from German families and Trematon is close to a village called St. Germans. Then there is Richard Earl of Cornwall and ‘King of the Germans’ who bought Trematon Castle in 1270. Perhaps all the German/Cornish connections and cross-connections are just a coincidence. The first Viscount Trematon was created in 1726; it was a minor title of the Duke of Cumberland, the third son of Hanoverian King George II. There is no information about why he was awarded this title. He died with no issue and the title became extinct. The title was revived in 1917; it was a minor title given to Prince Rupert of Teck, son of the Earl of Athlone and great-grandson of Queen Victoria. British royals were renouncing their German names and titles at the time. Prince Rupert of Teck became Rupert Cambridge, Viscount Trematon. Rupert was a haemophiliac and died in a car crash in France in 1928. He was only 20 years old. Once again the title became extinct. The two Viscounts Trematon, Prince William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland and Rupert Alexander George Augustus Cambridge:

Sherlock Holmes and the Death of the Bavarian King
The Bavarians have appropriated Sherlock Holmes! A new Sherlock Holmes tribute play that by coincidence features Ludwig II was first performed in Bavaria this summer: “Sherlock Holmes und der Tod des Bayernkönigs (Sherlock Holmes and the Death of the Bavarian King) is a German play... performed at the Blutenburg Theater (Munich, Germany) on 9 June to 21 July 2018. An elegantly dressed lady appears at 221b Baker Street, and asks Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson for help. A culture-loving relative of her has had an Egyptian mummy imported. The people involved in the transport have all been killed. Now the relative fears for his own life and for his reason, because every night the mummy whispers to him in Bavarian. The relative is none other than King Ludwig II, the young lady his cousin Therese of Bavaria...” www.arthur-conan-doyle.com/index.php?title=Sherlock_Holmes_und_der_Tod_des_Bayernk%C3%B6nigsThere are around 32 characters in the play; they are played by 4 actors who are all men!

BoJo and the Bavarian connection
It is uncanny how many links there are between Bavaria and many topics, places and people of interest. Now Boris Johnson has joined the party. BoJo, whose full name is Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson, took part in the BBC’s ancestor-tracing programme Who Do You Think You Are?He went to the Bavarian State Library in Munich to look at their records after finding someone called Baron Charles de Pfeffel, an ancestor on his grandmother’s side, who lived between 1843 and 1922 and died in Germany. He learned that at one point de Pfeffel was Chamberlain to the King of Bavaria - they do not say which one. www.bbc.co.uk/whodoyouthinkyouare/new-stories/boris-johnson/how-we-did-it_2.shtml

Sherlock Holmes and Ludwig II again
Sherlock in Love by Sena Jeta Naslund is another tribute story that brings together the great detective and the mad king, two characters who have not lost their fascination. It was a clever idea to bring them together, but most reviews are not good. From a summary of the story: “Later in the year, Holmes is asked to assist in the delivery of some letters from Ludwig II of Bavaria to the French Government. At first he is reluctant, until he learns that Sigerson is with Ludwig. In Bavaria, Holmes sets out to rescue Violet from the King, while also protecting the King from his enemies. After Holmes is injured in a carriage accident, and Sigerson and Watson locked in the Neuschwanstein dungeons, they are called upon to prevent a suicide bid by Ludwig. Later, at Berg Castle, they fail to prevent the drowning of Ludwig, Sigerson and Dr Gudden in the lake.” www.schoolandholmes.com/summariesn.htmlThere is some familiar blue and white china on the cover of one edition:

H. G. Wells and the Bavarian royal family
H. G. Wells’s vision of future history The Shape of Things to Come has a character called Prince Manfred of Bavaria, who is depicted as the leader of a widespread rebellion against the rise of a world government. The Shape of Things to Come describes future events up to the year 2106. It was published in 1933, 15 years after the Bavarian monarchy had become a republic. Perhaps Wells envisioned Prince Manfred as a descendant of King Rupprecht and an heir to Rupprecht's ambitions.

Hello again! Apologies for being away so long again but things have been very hectic for me recently, primarily due to moving house, but I hope I can come back on to this more often. Bavaria is rather fascinating and interesting that you should mention the Shape of Things To Come (1933), UnseenI. I remember reading it a few years ago and H.G. Wells predicts the outbreak of the 2nd World War in the first part – both the casus belli and the approximate date (which he places at January 1940) – to a surprisingly accurare degree. I am also reminded of the very short-lived Soviet republic that was declared in Bavaria in 1919 which lasted from April 6th to May 3rd, when it was disestablished by Freikorps paramilitaries, eventually becoming part of the Weimar Republic.

Hello again aletheia. Moving house is a huge disruption; I am glad that you found some time to come on here. As for Bavaria, I had no idea that there were going to be so many connections. There is still plenty left in that mine! I need to get back to H. G. Wells some time. His predictive work may have more relevant material. The book was made into a film in 1936. Synchronously, or just by coincidence, it was shown on TV yesterday for the first time in ages but I missed it. This was the same day that I found the Bavarian connection. I have only ever seen the film once; it was ages ago and I can’t remember much about it.

H. P. Lovecraft, H. G. Wells, Sherlock Holmes and some royal blood
The anthology Shadows Over Baker Street: New Tales of Terror contains Sherlock Holmes tribute stories or pastiches. They could also be called mash-ups, as they have elements from H. P. Lovecraft’s horror universe. The previously mentioned story A Study in Emerald by Neil Gaiman features the murdered German nobleman Prince Franz Drago of Bohemia and Queen Victoria . She is a Great Old One, one of the rulers of the world. The royal rulers have green blood and tentacles: they are not human. Queen Victoria is huge and squats in the shadows. Prince Albert is entirely human though. It is he who is responsible for bringing in Holmes to solve the mystery of the murder. The full story is available here: www.neilgaiman.com/mediafiles/exclusive/shortstories/emerald.pdfIn the companion story A Case of Royal Blood by Steven-Elliott Altman, H. G. Wells takes Watson’s place in an effort to assist Holmes in ridding the Dutch Royal family of a Lovecraftian creature called a Shoggoth.
