If Philip was the father of Harry, that kills the lineage. However, William looks more like Philip. So, if it ever turned out that Philip is the father, and not Charles, that would render illegitimate the entire Cambridge family. Sad Day for the Yorkshire - The green mantle takes over.

The Duchess of York will move next month from the house she shares with her ex-husband and into a rented house nearby, a spokeswoman said Thursday.

The former Sarah Ferguson will live in Windlesham, Surrey, five miles from Prince Andrew's Sunninghill estate in southern England, the spokeswoman said on customary condition of anonymity.

The 42-year-old duchess, who was divorced six years ago from the second son of Queen Elizabeth II, had moved back into a wing of Sunninghill several years ago to save money when she was millions of dollars in debt.

She launched her lifestyle and promotions company Hartmoor in 2006, renting plush offices at one of the most expensive tower blocks in the smart Plaza District of New York.

All her earnings were intended to pass through the company. At the time she was still in demand for chat shows and was launching a widening range of products - from monogrammed candles with personally chosen perfumes to jewellery and, of course, her books.

But, unexpectedly, the tiaraed novelty of Brand Fergie was no longer a guarantee of success, and the products flopped. Her self-help and children's books sold in hundreds rather than thousands.

The candlemakers withdrew her range and the jewellery supplier went out of business. At the same time, the big money television appearances were drying up.

The costliest loss early last year, however, was the end of the £2 million a year (plus expenses) she was paid by WeightWatchers.

There is an intriguing subplot to her relationship with the slimming company. They may have needed her, but she also needed them because being a duchess, she explains, 'brought attention to the size of my backside. Diana was super-thin and fab'. (Her newest 'diet trick' is to drink apple juice mixed with fizzy water.)

Fergie's luck ran out in January when optimistic plans to make an animated television series from her children's books Tea For Ruby and Little Red - about a ginger girl loosely based on herself - suddenly collapsed.

The deal had just been made with HandMade Films - best known for Time Bandits and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels - when their shares were suspended amid concern over the company's finances.

Windlesham Moor is a country house and, for a time in the 20th century a royal residence, at Windlesham in the English county of Surrey.

History

Mr Philip Hill bought the Victorian home and grounds in a state of disrepair in 1942 for £40,000 (equivalent to £1,660,000 in 2015). Later the Royal Family bought the renovated Sunninghill Park house and park from Hill. He renovated the house in 1944. It was rented furnished from his widow, Mrs. Warwick Bryant, for The Princess Elizabeth, Duchess of Edinburgh and The Duke of Edinburgh between 1947 and 4 July 1949.

The house has by design four reception rooms including a reception hall, dining room, a 50-foot (15 m) drawing room, and a Chinese room. Other room names during the royal tenure included a study, games room, and loggia and five main bedrooms. The nursery comprised two guest rooms joined.

The house bore with it 58 acres (0.23 km2), largely of light woodland in the acidic heath of Surrey Heath on the elevated Bagshot Formation (Bagshot sands).

Neighbours

To the north and west is (in Berkshire) part of Swinley Forest lying in the Crown Estate, separated by the Ascot to Guildford Line from its heart. To the south is Erl Wood Manor European research laboratory established in 1967 for Eli Lilly and Company, a USA-based pharmaceutical company. To the south-west corner across the minor train line is a private racecourse and to the east are smallholdings and gardens of detached homes such as Windlesham Hill Farm which is divided into three. A 21st century care home has been established on part of the former farm.

Present

The current owner is Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum who has invested in vast renovation and extensions, the addition of a large security gatehouse in 2002 and the inclusion of two homes into the estate, "Winklands" and "Rose Cottage". The house is enjoyed throughout the summer months (July to September) by its current owner, his family, and other Arab dignitaries and occasionally by the Sheikh's invitees during the remainder of the year. The property is maintained all year round by a team of property managers, gardeners and security personnel.

Tomorrow is Prince Andrew's 60th birthday.

Normally government buildings would fly flags to mark the occasion, but councils have been told they need not if they feel it is inappropriate.

Recently Will launched National Emergency Trust to raise monies for corona . This is a nobel act. He put out a video and the next day a Lord Dannatt was out on GMB Yorkshire talking about the work of the trust.

General the Lord Richard Dannatt (GCB CBE MC DL) was a soldier for 40 years concluding his military career as Chief of the General Staff – the professional head of the British Army. Since retiring from active duty in 2009, he was Constable of the Tower of London until July 2016.

In 2011 he became an independent member of the House of Lords. He is a frequent commentator on defence and security issues in the media. He is the Chairman of the Royal Armouries. He was the founder Chairman of the Strategic Advisory Board of the Durham Global Security Institute which focuses on conflict prevention through the integration of defence, diplomacy and development.

He is also on a number of other boards in the private and charitable sectors, and holds several other appointments including President of Help for Heroes. He divides his time between London and his family home in Norfolk where he runs the family arable farm.

He is a Deputy Lieutenant for both Greater London and Norfolk. He published his autobiography, Leading from the Front in 2010, and a second book, Boots on the Ground – Britain and her Army since 1945 in October 2016.

He is married with four children and six grandsons. His wife, Philippa, was High Sheriff of Norfolk 2014-15.


"A former Defence Minister and spy watchdog is recreating the comic songs of Flanders & Swann to raise money for orphaned children.

Michael Mates will perform classics like Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud and The Gasman Cometh in aid of Hope & Homes For Children next week.
I have been a fan of Flanders & Swann since I saw them perform in the 1950s," said Mr Mates who sat on the Intelligence and Security Committee that oversees MI5 and MI6.


"This is a really good cause, a charity that is managing to empty the worst orphanages in Eastern Europe and Africa."

The charity was founded by the former British commander in Bosnia, Col Mark Cook, after he found a cellar full of starving children in war-torn Sarajevo.
