I have never read any of Charles Fort's work and know almost nothing about him. Avacyn said that he would like this site to have a Fortean emphasis, which brought him to mind. I was in Bloomsbury yesterday and noticed a plaque on one of the buildings in Marchmont Street. I found some information online: Site: Charles Fort (2 memorials) WC1, Marchmont Street, 39a “Charles and his wife Anna came to London and lived at first 15 and then 39A Marchmont Street so that he could live close while he read his way through all the scientific journals at the British Library, then accessed via the Reading Room at the British Museum. For seven years he read, and wrote his four books on topics such as space travel, magic, etc….” www.londonremembers.com/memorials/charles-fort-blue

Yeah, that's the guy.
If you do more research, you will find that he would look for anything strange and peculiar things, that could not be readily explained.
Fortean is based is a word based on his name, to denote anything that he found that was, in a way, anything like an episode of The X-Files?
He also came up with the words teleport and teleportation.
