I am still waking up, and trying to work out the full details, but Donald Trump has made the announcement. I have heard parts, and seen the basic news. The details will be key to work out this development, and what it means. I am sure people have plenty of thoughts on the matter, as he does generate a lot of conversations with what he says and does. Now for me to try and get more information on it all. And if people want to be critical of the man, have at it. Just remember to tackle the topic, not one another.

I was very surprised to wake up to this.
I may have some old posts that might be suitable. Of course, anything could happen between now and 2024

Donald Trump might not get the Republican nomination; he may be seen as a liability.

Donald Trump tries again
I can't feel the interest that I did the first time around. I think that many former supporters are disillusioned now. He may be doing it mainly to avoid prosecution; he may genuinely believe that he is in with a chance.

Picture from the past
The 2016 US presidential election inspired many posts on the old CC forum. Nigel Farage's involvement made the proceedings even more interesting. Tsar liked this picture that I posted after the results were in:

Will Nigel Farage coach Donald Trump again?
This is from 2016: “Nigel Farage flew to the US last night to coach Donald Trump ahead of his next presidential debate with Hillary Clinton. The former Ukip leader will give the Republican nominee tips on how to defeat Mrs Clinton ahead of their second meeting in eight days' time. And Mr Farage – praised for his debating skills during the EU referendum campaign – will also offer help in the build-up to the final clash, which is on October 19. Mr Farage has been brought in at the last minute after the first debate in New York earlier this week gave Democrat Mrs Clinton a boost in the polls. Republican advisers were said to have been frustrated by Mr Trump's performance and vowed to prepare him more rigorously.” Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3816822/Send-Nigel-Trump-flies-Farage-help-sharpen-debating-skills-clash-Hillary-Clinton.html#ixzz4LovDly7R This is what I said at the time: “How strange. Haven’t they got any debating experts closer to home? Has Nigel Farage started a new career in consultancy?” Will history repeat itself? Will Nigel fly over to give Donald Trump some more tips?

Another patriotic image from 2016
This revolutionary-themed picture is a good example of pro-Trump fan art:

My offering of a patriotic image of Trump from 2016.
UnseenI, your post prompted me to dig back into my archives from 2016/17, very nostalgic.

That is a great picture! I looked at my old files and was amazed to see how many posts I made about the 2016 US election. Trump was the great hero then, and he inspired many artistic creations. I am sure that there is more that is worth re-posting. I remember waking up to the news:

Trump and friends versus his critics
Artist and Trump supporter Jon Proby produced a very striking picture with many symbolic messages in it: “...Modern Warfare, a painting which illustrates what Proby sees as the political and spiritual conflict going on in the United States. Portraits of Vladimir Putin, Rodrigo Duterte, Trump and other hardline political figures face off on the stormy canvas against the likes of Angela Merkel and Pope Francis -- “people who have negative things to say about Trump,” Proby says.“ www.kqed.org/arts/13819255/one-year-later-how-are-artists-dealing-with-trumpModern Warfare was painted in 2018:

Trump portrayed as Napoleon
I wonder how many artists became disillusioned with their hero after he had been in office for a while. Perhaps they expected too much from him. Taking a well known, idealised portrait of Napoleon and putting Trump's face on it may be going a bit too far:

12 Lefties crying...
I remember posting several of right-wing political artist Ben Garrison's cartoons in 2016. I didn't see this one at the time, but it is very suitable for the season:

Trump as David versus Goliath
Donald Trump had it in for the Federal Reserve. Ben Garrison depicted him as a hero who takes on a monster. Eye and triangle; annuit coeptis on the headband - there is some Illuminati symbolism here:

Donald Trump has bunkered up
There are reports that Donald Trump has rarely left his Mar-o-Largo club for weeks, except to play golf. Perhaps he is disappointed because his announcement didn't get the euphoric reception that he expected.

Bart van Leeuwen and the blue wave
Red waves signify a huge Republican majority; blue waves mean a landslide for the Democrats. The hoped-for red wave in November 2022's mid-term elections didn't materialise. Blue Wave by Bart van Leeuwen shows what he wanted to happen in the mid-term results of 2018:

Red wave for Trump in 2024?
Donald Trump's chances in the next presidential election are not looking good. Bart van Leeuwen is just one of the many people who are not expecting a surge of support for Donald Trump in the 2024 elections:

Trump as David versus Goliath
Donald Trump had it in for the Federal Reserve. Ben Garrison depicted him as a hero who takes on a monster. Eye and triangle; annuit coeptis on the headband - there is some Illuminati symbolism here: This will become relevant in time. Right now, the Federal Reserve is looking terrible, bercause they are not tackling inflation hard. Then again, if they were to do that, they would crash the whole system. The corruption of the central bank system is getting more and more obvious. Also, it is increasingly obvious that it is not there to help the people, but crush them. 2024 is going to be crunch time for them, as they will be so damaged by then, and it will be their own doing. You cannot tackle them head on, you need to sneak in attacks from the sides. Trump did that, by showing us a great American economy, using their system to do it. Now, they have had to reverse everything so fast it is screamingly obvious to many people now, and that number is increasing.

Yet another suggestion that Trump is going nowhere: He is currently up against Biden. So... watch this space. I am not ruling him out, not at this stage. Far from it. He looks on course, if you can believe it.

Something to consider is the fact that Trump had the portrait of Andrew Jackson up in the Oval Office, while President: Was this really a coincidence? I also remember he was pictured in front of James Madison as well. When you look at the pair of them, it suggests a pathway Trump could well be following. I've been trying to find the picture, but have yet to succeed.

Avacyn maybe this thread should now be in the Politics board. “I am not ruling him out, not at this stage. Far from it. He looks on course, if you can believe it.” Nothing is certain in these strange times. Anything could happen.

He's off!
Donald Trump hit the campaign trail today with some whistle-stop tours as part of his attempt to get the Republican nomination. He has a long way to go. So far he is the only declared candidate, but surely others will step forward soon. He does have supporters: his 45,000 x $99 NFT digital trading cards have sold out, with the proceeds going direct to him. Here are two examples:

Up from $99 to $44,000
Buyers of Donald Trump's collection of NFT digital cards are reported to be selling them on for huge sums. Are people really paying $44k for the likes of this:

Donald Trump is expected to turn himself in to law enforcement authorities tomorrow. Will this be the end of his campaign to be re-elected or will he carry on regardless?

Donald Trump and Nigel Farage
Donald Trump has come over here for the golf. He is giving just one interview – to Nigel Farage for GB News. Brexit, the 2024 presidential campaign and the royals could be on the agenda.
