The Colosseum in Rome has an exhibition related to Carthage, with a replica statue of Moloch: "The history and culture of one of the most powerful and fascinating cities of the ancient Mediterranean is on display from 27 September to 29 March 2020 with the exhibition Carthago. Il mito immortale – “Carthage. The immortal myth”. ...A reconstruction of the terrible deity Moloch, linked to Phoenician and Carthaginian religions and featured in the 1914 film Cabiria (directed by Giovanni Pastore and written by Gabriele D’Annunzio) will be stationed at the entrance to the Colosseum to welcome visitors to the exhibition." parcocolosseo.it/en/2019/08/carthago-the-immortal-myth-from-27-september-the-new-large-scale-exhibition-of-parco-archeologico-del-colosseo/Moloch is associated with child sacrifice.

Elon Musk and owls
Moloch can be linked to the owl which may tie in to a tweet that Elon Musk has just made (via @elonmusk).
He is known for mysterious and odd posts so I was not sure what to make of it.
Predictably many replies drawing the connexion to Moloch / Molech.

Great find, aletheia! That looks horrible - artificial, sinister and mechanical. This is what I think of when I think of owls:

The strange building with an owl on Jeffrey Epstein’s island is said to be a temple to Moloch. Here is the restored poster for the 1914 film:

Owls and the London Underground
This one not directly related to Moloch but owl-related. A funny little article from 2011 about how there are fake owls placed on the London Underground: to ward off pigeons apparently. This fact was revealed by a Liberal Democrat Mark Pack who made a Freedom of Information request to TfL, enquiring into how much of their budget was being spent on these fake owls. It appears that they are only a feauture in Wembley Park station (link below).
These 'owls' do seem rather unnerving and rather unseemly. It is the artifical nature of these sorts of creations, as you say magpiejack, which just looks wrong.

This has given me some ideas for the London thread! I like owls, but they have some sinister aspects and associations.

Moloch and the man with the moustache
According to Winston Churchill in The Gathering Storm, Hitler was obsessed with Moloch. Churchill described him as the priest and incarnation of the all-devouring idol. There is a 1999 Russian film, a biographical drama, about Hitler called Moloch. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moloch_(film)One-eye symbolism and “A demon in the shape of man”:

They burn an owl effigy at Bohemian Grove as well, don't they? I think owls are gorgeous, though they are 'creatures of the night' and nocturnal creatures have always had sinister connotations. In Greek mythology however, owls were always associated with the goddess Athena and wisdom.

Sinister associations
“...owls were always associated with the goddess Athena and wisdom.” The connections between owls, Leeds, the Saviles of Leeds and Jimmy Savile were discussed in detail on the old David Icke Forum. This is from a post I made in 2013: “Not only are owls linked to the Savile family, they are also associated with Athena, after whom the Athenaeum Club that JS got himself into was named. The club is supposed to be for scholarly gentlemen!” Jimmy Savile’s home town of Leeds has many ornamental owls. aletheia a neighbour two doors along had a model owl like the ones in the Underground on his balcony rail to keep the pigeons away. I had a big shock when it suddenly turned its head!

In Greek mythology however, owls were always associated with the goddess Athena and wisdom. Depends on the owl. If it is horned, it is associated with death, no horns are associated with wisdom.
