Peaches, BoJo and an accident with the pushchair

I learned recently that ’Peaches’ is the second name of one of Boris Johnson’s daughters.

There is another connection: Peaches blamed Boris, the then Mayor of London, when she had an accident with her pushchair in September 2012:

“Peaches Geldof has hit out at Boris Johnson over the state of London's pavements after her infant son was almost injured in an accident.

The 23-year-old vented on Twitter this afternoon (September 6) after a pram carrying 4-month-old Astala, her first child with fiancé Thomas Cohen, fell over when it struck a "massive hole" in the concrete.

"I didn't see as was pushing the pram and the pram...fell into it and toppled over!" she explained to her followers. "Thankfully Astala didn't fall out as was strapped in and so...didnt get hurt at all or cry.But still the London pavements are SO dangerous! If he had fallen out he could have seriously hurt himself!

"And it's impossible to see these cracks When pushing a pram...The mayor of london should do something about it it's ridiculous! Thank god Astala is ok!"

Not taking responsibility where appropriate, always putting the blame on something or someone else, is not a good sign and Peaches did this a lot.

People blamed Peaches for being distracted by her mobile, using just one hand for pushing and not looking where she was going. They criticised her for continuing to hold her phone while picking the baby up. They said that Astala didn’t look strapped in.

It is strange that someone just happened to be around to report the accident, and where is this ‘massive hole’?

The celebrity circuit madness

Avacyn called the lives in the public eye that many celebrities lead ‘madness’ on the old forum.

I agreed with him, and posted some of my thoughts about the reasons they do it - personal, professional and sinister:

“This topic has been one big learning exercise about ‘the madness’ for me:

I came to understand that while some people love publicity for its own sake, other, possibly insecure, people constantly seek attention because they need validation from outside. They crave media exposure and may become addicted to it, feeling worthless without it. Saying and doing outrageous things is one way to get attention and publicity, as is going to the right places and events and being seen with the right people, not to mention making announcements about exciting plans for the future.

There are also the career and financial aspects: they are often in professions that demand personal popularity so must continually court publicity, socialise and demonstrate that they are in demand if they want more work assignments, paid appearances, sales etc.

I am now wondering whether there is something more to it: perhaps being well known and constantly in the public eye is a form of insurance or security. Perhaps some of these celebrities vaguely feel that their fans and the public would demand an investigation if something happened to them. They are afraid to disappear, even when they are on a path that they have seen leads to disaster. Worse yet, they are controlled and are not permitted to get off the treadmill and disappear. They can’t escape that easily, and may be punished for trying.”

I now think that all three reasons applied to Peaches. She may have wanted a quiet life and to get away from bad company by moving to Wrotham, but she frequently visited London for assignments, appearances and events and she put much of her life online.

Parper at Passover

Peaches celebrated Passover with her family in 2013.

Even the dog Parper played a part; he looked cute in a skullcap:

Was this staged, to send a communication to someone, for some reason? There is the leopard print handbag, (Beta kitten programming,) A pig toy, loin printed mats, and the baby seems very unresponsive. With a sudden series of wild motions, it should be creating a fuss, and also moving around, and wanting his mother. In short, there would be a flailing arms, and all sorts. And you can imagine her first reaction would be to pick up the baby. No, this was a deliberately staged picture, for sure. 

And as for lion...




My, what a coincidence...

Not only that, but she wasn't even in the village long. Wasn't it October 2013 she moved there?

That's very suspicious...

With Peaches, there are lots of posed pictures, including some that seem off and odd. Take this one:

Another old post contained some comments by writer William Todd Schultz, who spoke to Peaches on social media then on the phone:

“Peaches was born famous. She never knew any other existence.

‘From day one it was super intense. I was hyperaware of it. But as a kid, of course, I wasn’t mentally capable of understanding it. And the paparazzi freaked me out.’

She said her childhood was a ‘mind blank’. The absence of memory struck her as ‘bizarre’, a ‘weird sort of protective thing’...“

Not remembering her early years seems suspicious and sinister to me.

Paula Yates and child abuse

Another post from the old forum about Peaches’ mother Paula Yates:

“Paula Yates abused Peaches?

I knew that Gerry Agar alleged in a book published in 2003 that the girls were neglected when they were living with Paula: they went to school with matted hair, dirty uniforms and with homework not done.

She has since come out with more serious allegations:

“Ms Agar previously told the Daily Mail how she had blown the whistle on Miss Yates' drug habit in 1996 after she found opium under her bed in a Smarties box. Detectives did not prosecute Miss Yates because of insufficient evidence.

She told the paper: ‘When Paula took drugs she became another person, really a diabolical being. I don’t think anyone truly understands what life was like in that family and Peaches got the worst of it. I can’t even begin to describe what that poor girl lived through.'”

Another poster said at the time that she had heard about this from reliable sources.

“Peaches is a dog’s name”

Peaches behaved like a dog when she was a little girl. I wonder why she did this. It was discussed on the DIF, where I posted an anecdote told by someone working on the Sports Relief’s Top Dog event that Peaches and her dog Parper competed in.

It appeared in the Brentwood Gazette (the link no longer works):

"Peaches Geldof part of Brentwood man's memories during Sports Relief shoot

‘I had an odd moment when I was told that I needed to go and get Peaches. I went over and said 'come here Peaches' to the dog and the woman said 'I am Peaches, not the dog'.

‘I didn't know what Peaches Geldof looked like and Peaches does sound like a good name for a dog.’ "

Poster 'janeb' reported that the commissioner/seller was the nanny, under her social media name of ‘niceneen’.

I found some confirmation and replied:

“It’s the nanny who is selling the picture all right.

I found a list of her profiles on various social media. Not only are there links to her Twitter etc. but she is on OKCupid! I couldn’t get in to see what it says.

The whole affair seems very strange.

More commissioned portraits

This is another story based on my old posts on the CC Forum:

Peaches commissioned a double portrait of Pixie from artist Sam Shaker; it was to have been ready for Pixie’s birthday in September 2014.

He gave an interview to The Sun about the commission:

“PEACHES Geldof had commissioned two portraits of her sister Pixie as a birthday surprise, an artist pal revealed.

The former model and journalist, 25 — who died last month after taking heroin
— asked Sam Shaker to paint them for £200 in time for September, when Pixie
turns 24.

Sam said: ‘She begged me to paint her sister and said, ‘Just make it
beautiful, she is my best friend and I want to surprise her’.

Peaches was a regular at Sam’s club After Dark in London’s Soho and told him
her husband Tom Cohen, 23, was ‘totally against drugs’.

Sam said: ‘He was very, very straight. Sometimes she called him boring and said they had fights.’”

Peaches was a DJ at Jazz After Dark in 2008

Sam Shaker painted many pictures of celebrities: his picture of William and Kate is in the Something Isn’t Right thread in the Monarchy section. He painted several portraits of Amy Winehouse and was said to be her ‘second father’.

The DM has a story from 2008 about Pete Docherty buying Shaker’s picture of Kate Moss. The main points of interest:

“Shaker decided that the work had rocketed in value and charged Doherty more than 16 times the original bill.

But Doherty, who was performing alongside DJ Peaches Geldof, was obviously feeling flush as he also snapped up a painting of himself with Paul McCartney, and one of his new best friend Amy Winehouse, wrapping up all three pictures in a bin liner.“

I wonder whether Shaker tried to charge Peaches much more than the original £200!
