Boris and food
Boris is in isolation now. People are leaving his meals outside his door. I wonder what they are giving him. I found an interview from 2008 is which he describes his eating habits: “Every morning I wake completely famished. This is because I'm very pathetic at night. If I eat too much at dinner it makes me wake up and get racing brain. A few lettuce leaves with tuna is enough. Consequently I wake up famished. I think all food is delicious. I just can't understand why people go on and on about it, especially restaurant critics. I mean, food is good, isn't it? My favourite thing is probably bangers, mash and mustard, with red wine. I do drink quite a lot of wine: red, white, or champagne. It doesn't matter if it's expensive or not because all wine is good. I normally try and go for a run in the morning, do a few push-ups, or just wander around with a newspaper. After all that I'll have a cup of coffee with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! and marmalade on toast. At this point I'm still wandering round reading the news, while my family eats at the table. I might even have some cold spaghetti or a chop or two, if there is some left over from my kids' meal the night before. There are often birthday cakes in the fridge, which I'll eat for breakfast: Betty Crocker's cakes are my favourite. At work I don't snack apart from a few chocolate croissants mid-morning to keep the wolf from the door, and I'll always have a latte coffee. For lunch I tend to eat any old thing. I have several cups of tea in the afternoon and vast quantities of Diet Coke - I drink a litre of it a day. But I do think it's sensible not to have much dinner because then you have a brilliant incentive to get out of bed the next morning. There is such a feeling of optimism as you realise you can draw back the covers and eat; it's fantastic.“ This is not good; he is a dustbin! What about fruit and vegetables? Perhaps Carrie has made him improve his eating habits. He is enjoying his food here:

Get well soon!
BoJo does not look well in this recent picture from his isolation room: We hope that he will recover soon and give us more pictures like this one:

BoJo is back in business tomorrow
BoJo is expected to emerge from 7 days of isolation tomorrow even though 14 days are recommended as he had only mild symptoms. He has not said much recently; I wonder whether he will be back to normal or will still seem rather under the weather.

BoJo is not coming back yet
He still has symptoms so will remain in isolation for now. So he and the Queen are taking a back seat for now. She will broadcast to the nation on Sunday. Perhaps he will do something similar, something Churchillian even. He looked sorry for himself yesterday; I hope that he gets back to his old self soon:

Carrie Symonds has the virus too
She has been self-isolating with Dilyn the dog. Like Bojo, she is recovering after getting mild symptoms.

It seems that no one has any real idea about Boris's condition but it does seem that this is more serious than 10 Downing Street are letting on. In the daily briefing, today at 5pm, Dominic Raab appeared to say that he had not been in contact with the PM since Saturday. This is causing some confusion, as it is unclear how Boris is instructing Raab as his stand-in PM if he has not been in contact with him since being admitted to St. Thomas' Hospital. Also much more talk of the exit strategy to the lockdown - Laura Kuenssberg of BBC seemed particularly determined to pursue this line of questioning.

You were quite right aletheia. I thought that he didn’t look very well but the news that he had been moved to intensive care came as a shock.

I am slightly concerned that after three days of Boris being in the ICU, we still haven't seen any evidence that he is in a stable condition.
I think that someone should check up on him or have him pose for a bedside photograph to put the nation more at ease.

Is BoJo really getting better?
I don’t know what to believe. After experiencing the lack of hard evidence in many stories about the Sussexes, I don’t trust anyone to tell the truth. ‘Downing Street’ has said that he is improving. I want to see him out and about: the area around Whitehall is very quiet now so he can have a run in peace. Maybe he has lost weight so will need to buy new clothes!

He isn’t fully recovered but he is picking up the threads. Here is one of the pictures of him that I like best:

BoJo and baby
BoJo’s waxwork from Madame Tussauds has been updated. With all the main attractions closed, it will be a while before most people will be able to go and see it. I think it looks a little too smart and thin to be a good likeness of him:

BoJo is not looking too well
Perhaps he is feeling the pressure of the position or maybe he has not fully recovered from the virus. From his speech last night:

Pale and thin: BoJo’s bouncy body has vanished
BoJo is exercising again, but he is a shadow of his former self. Losing weight sometimes makes people look haggard; I hope that it is no more than that. I wonder whether he has had to buy new running clothes.

He says that he is very fit now, and did push-ups to prove it. I think that he still looks a little unwell.

Here is BoJo yesterday: He should go for something more exotic: I saw someone wearing a face covering very like this on the bus recently:

BoJo has been a very naughty boy
The BoJo family, including baby and dog, have been on holiday in a little cottage on the Scottish coast. If this is true, he behaved very irresponsibly: “ Minister Boris Johnson's Great Escape descended into farce this afternoon after it emerged he had camped in a local sheep farmer's field without permission. Applecross Landowner Kenny Cameron was left fuming today when he realised the PM and his fiancée Carrie Symonds had pitched their trendy eight foot bell tent on his land and had a camp fire without asking him first. He was also angered that Mr Johnson and Miss Symonds, 32, appeared to have been climbing over his 3ft high wire fence to get to the cream-coloured canvas tent, instead of using the gate into the field. Mr Cameron found a pair of wooden chairs from the cottage had been placed either side of the fence to form steps to clamber over it. The sheep farmer was also concerned that lighting a campfire had posed a potential risk due to the tinder dry conditions in recent weeks. Speaking exclusively to MailOnline as Boris's minders hastily packed away the offending canvas tent, a bewildered Mr Cameron said: 'Mr Johnson is meant to be leading the country and yet he is not setting a great example. 'Usually if people want to go inside a fenced area, they ask for permission first, but I was not asked at all. It is only polite to ask.'” www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8650799/Boriss-Great-Escape-PM-flees-tent-moves-Old-School-House-remote-peninsula.html

Getting fit for the future
There was a story that BoJo would resign in a few months’ time because the coronavirus had affected him badly. He is actually working with a personal trainer to make himself as fit as possible. He has worn much more colourful outfits for jogging in the past:

The pressures of life at the top
Boris does not look very happy these days. Is he miserable, worn out, short of money and having trouble coping with Brexit, coronavirus and the economy as some critics suggest? “Boris Johnson is now a man with 'misery etched on his face' as Covid and money troubles wear down the formally 'ebullient' and 'cajoling' figure of old. A deeply unflattering portrait published yesterday suggested that the combination of his own brush with death, dealing with the pandemic and personal financial concerns had taken a terrible toll on the usually jovial PM.” www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8751259/Boris-Johnsons-allies-angered-brutal-personal-attack-PM.html

There are reports that BoJo has lost his mojo! These are typical pictures, but his old self would have got to work with much more enthusiasm:

BoJo didn't sign up for this
He is not looking too happy these days. He is torn between 'scientists' who want tighter restrictions and people who want them removed: public health versus the economy. He might have been better off staying on as Mayor.

BoJo is still not looking very well. He seems to be just going through the motions ant not really enjoying himself the way he did in the good old days. In a hospital canteen today:

BoJo under more pressure
How much longer can he go on for? He is still not looking at all well: Been thinking this myself. I reckon he will step down in January, once Brexit is done. He should have had faith in himself, and thought for himself.
