The next monarch: some suggestions
Maybe there should be an election or a referendum, with various eligible candidates being encouraged to give it a go. There could be some kind of competition, maybe of the knockout kind. The Supreme Champion gets the throne. BoJo is in training already:

Meghan Markle is joining the royal family
Will this hasten the end of the monarchy? I wouldn't be surprised if it does. I know that, as you said Avacyn , there might not be many people wishing to marry Harry, but I do wonder whether there might be more to it - as with the Middletons. I wonder how the Queen feels about all these new people who will want to meet her. Popcorn time!

Defender of the Faith: a major requirement for the successor
You mentioned a clearing house Avacyn , which is amusing and maybe prophetic. I have been thinking in terms of a job title, job description, person specification, essential and desirable attributes and deal-breaking requirements. At present, the Queen is Supreme Governor the Church of England and Defender of the (Anglican) Faith. Perhaps these are now empty titles and not taken seriously by the holders; if so, perhaps we should think about ending the monarchy. Religion played a big part in determining who was chosen for the monarchy in the past. Elizabeth I defended the Protestant faith against the Catholics; now perhaps Elizabeth II should be thinking about defending Christianity against Islam, and so should her successor. Henry VIII was the first monarch to be styled Defender of the Faith. Who will be the last? Here he is in blue and orange: “Portrait Of Henry Viii Defender Of The Faith And His Court “ Interesting you should say that... MORE AT: www.secularism.org.uk/news/2015/02/charles-vows-to-keep-defender-of-the-faith-title-as-kingAn interesting picture of Charles: An atricle from 2008, which shows the controversy he created: www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/theroyalfamily/3454271/Prince-Charles-to-be-known-as-Defender-of-Faith.htmlSo, it is an good question, indeed...

In a panda mask in Sainsbury this October: This reminds me of Peaches, with everyone wearing animal masks. At least she isn't dressed like a pig! Of course, the World Wildlife Fund has the panda as its symbol. Guess who was a founder, and a president for the charity? Prince Philip... Maybe she is begging for conservation?

The more "commoners" there are in the family, the less special it will seem. Mind you, did Diana start off this trend? She was seen as a regular person, being a teachiing assistant. But then, she is - allegedly - from the Spencer line. Aristocracy... I did hear that the Queen was thinklnig about boycotting the wedding, will need to see if I can find that article.

The royal brides have been descending by degrees, starting with the Queen Mother who unlike Queens Alexandra and Mary was not royal in her own right. They were princesses; she was just the daughter of an earl, as was Princess Diana.
Kate Middleton came from a much lower position, and now... these royal bloodlines seem nothing special anyway, now that we know more about what has been going on behind the scenes.

"I did hear that the Queen was thinklnig about boycotting the wedding, will need to see if I can find that article."
I doubt it: what choice do they have? There may be fury in private, but they have no option but to put up a front. What else can they say other than that they are delighted? Perhaps Prince Philip will be too ill to attend, and the Queen will stay with him...
I see this as another nail in the coffin of the royal family. If any old person can marry in, there is nothing special about them. On the other hand, they may think that it makes them look better, for encouraging 'diversity'.

The Daily Mail must be delighted
A royal baby and a royal wedding! They are going to have to find a lot of clickbait material in the coming months. Much of it will be sugar and speculation, delusions and downright lies and repeat material. This is from a sorry excuse for an article that appeared after the baby announcement: “It is hard to think that, back when William chose as his bride a middle-class girl, some doubted the match and cruelly mocked the fact her mother was a former air hostess. The truth is that Kate has risen brilliantly to the challenge. Those cynics were silenced by the Queen, whose fondness for William and Kate is such that she has frequently included the Middleton family in domestic royal gatherings… Indeed, many of us were surprised that the couple’s news came just days after palace officials had revealed details of the Cambridges’ autumn schedule, which is thought to include a short tour to Scandinavia. Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4852224/Kate-William-defy-royal-convention.html#ixzz4rmxdsT5s And many of us were not at all surprised. It is obviously a way of escaping all those extra duties. And they must know about all the wardrobe malfunctions, strange expressions, inappropriate behavior and the inability to get to grips with her role… I wonder how much journalists get paid for producing such pathetic drivel. I think that they sometimes deliberately try to be provocative in the hope of attracting attention and comments.

Thomas Markle Junior: Harry, what have you done!
Thomas Markle Junior is Meghan’s half-brother. He looks to have red hair in some pictures. With baby Meghan: He could give Kate’s Uncle Gary a run for his money. He was arrested on January 12 in Oregon for allegedly holding a gun to a woman's head during a drunken argument. He was later charged with menacing, pointing a firearm at another person, and unlawful use of a weapon. He is said to have ‘alcohol issues’. He even makes Uncle Gary look classy in comparison:

William started it
He is responsible for the Middleton connection, which led to the connection with the Matthews family. So now they can all capitalise on their royal family connections. This pair of charmers is James Middleton (left), Kate’s brother, and Spencer Matthews, the brother of Pippa’s husband.

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold
The rot has set in and we are all doomed! From your post about the Queen: “I wonder if she has hidden problems?” I think that the main problem is no longer hidden! Then there is this from your post about Prince Charles: “...the Church of England's purpose ’is not to defend Anglicanism to the exclusion of other religions’, but rather the Church ‘has a duty to protect the free practise of all faiths in this country.’ Who says so? This is another example of redefining something for reasons of political correctness. If he won’t defend Anglicanism and put it first then who will? “A rabid chimpanzee would be an improvement...” You mean something like this?

Uncle Frederick Markle and an Orlando connection
I really must start that Orlando thread soon. In the meantime, how about this bizarre story: “DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal that Meghan's 75-year-old uncle Frederick Markle is the leader of the 'Eastern Orthodox Catholic Church In America'. It boasts just a single tumbledown chapel in Sanford, Florida, and the reclusive Markle, who goes by the title Bishop Dismas, is the sole clergyman. And while the church had around 40 members in its 1980s heyday, one former worshiper told DailyMail.com he's not sure if a single person attends services there anymore. Bishop Dismas lives and works out of the secluded woodland property 30 miles north of Orlando, rarely leaving the grounds and eschewing mobile phones, emails or the internet. .. Prince Harry's potential new in-laws also include the Bishop's estranged 66-year-old wife Theresa, a retired elementary school teacher with a shock of bright purple hair. Uncle Frederick, aka Bishop Dismas: Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4686858/Meghan-Markle-s-uncle-bishop-church.html#ixzz4zoHjKaOx

The Markle family ticks many boxes
I am not talking about diversity, but themes of interest such as red hair, Orlando, a pig and blue & orange. Some of the connections with her and her family are tenuous, but they seem worth mentioning. Her parents’ Hollywood connections are very interesting too, as is the business of her father’s alleged huge lottery win (more than £500,000) that was used to give Meghan a good start, and his current bankruptcy. Her father’s first wife was called Roslyn, and according to his son Thomas Jr “he had a room which was locked that no one could enter. He needed private space. “ Meghan aged 11 in a Mickey Mouse T-Shirt:

Meghan Markle’s extended family
Most of them seem to have married, divorced and re-married several times, so there are a lot of half- and step- brothers and sisters in the case. The Daily Mail has done a great job drawing up family trees and tracking them all down. I wonder how many will come over for the wedding. I hope they don’t do this in the official photographs:

If this goes on... The race to the bottom is speeding up. Down and down the royal family goes - from princess to actress in five generations. It is a bit early to start thinking about Prince George, but if the trend continues he will marry a single mother from a council estate. Someone like this for example:

Monarchy candidates play dress-up
Is this part of the job description? Charles the Saudi: “The day after Prince Charles donned traditional robes and joined Saudi princes in a sword dance in Riyadh, Britain's biggest arms company announced that agreement had finally been reached on the sale of 72 Typhoon fighters sold to the Gulf kingdom.” www.theguardian.com/uk-news/defence-and-security-blog/2014/feb/24/arms-gulf-prince-charlesHuge arms deal? What a coincidence. William the Samurai: “As a thoroughly modern prince, William has been credited with bringing the Royal Family into the 21st Century. But the second in line to the Throne was only too happy to play the role of ancient tyrant when he dressed up as one of Japan’s most notorious Samurai warlords. The Prince looked positively imperious when he donned the glittering helmet and red and gold tunic of Toyotomi Hideyoshi the formidable 16th Century warrior who ruled Japan with a rod of iron.” Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2973262/William-transformed-ancient-Japanese-warlord-Tokyo-visit.html#ixzz414P4DR4D Imperious? BoJo is in training for the job Avacyn you said that you would rather see BoJo as king than the current batch we have; I agree. At least he wants the job: he has to start somewhere if he wants to be King of the World. According to WiKi, he has some royal blood: “A 2008 episode of BBC's Who Do You Think You Are? said that his German 3rd great-grandmother Karoline von Rothenburg was the illegitimate daughter of Prince Paul of Württemberg by an actress; the prince was himself a descendant of King George II of Great Britain and King Frederick William I of Prussia” Is he preparing for the job of Defender of Faiths? You posted a picture of Prince Charles in a skullcap a while back. Boris went one better when he visited an Orthodox community in London: BoJo gave the other candidates a run for their money when he visited a Hindu temple:

Lavendel things have changed a lot since we discussed the succession earlier this year. Prince Harry has twice torpedoed the royal family, first by saying that no one wants to be the next monarch and then by getting engaged to Meghan Markle. I wonder whether he knows what all of them think; perhaps he is just talking about his immediate family. The different factions that you mentioned may now be fighting to NOT get the throne! I know of only one person who wants it, and that is BoJo. (Former Mayor of London and now in charge of Foreign Affairs in case he is new to you.)

Let the games commence
Who is the better buffoon, Wills or BoJo? They should have their own comedy TV shows. I think that BoJo has been preparing for a celebrity challenge in which candidates compete for the throne: Prince William is doing his best to demonstrate his suitability too. We really need a future monarch who can do this: This was on a visit to Japan in March 2015. He will have to up his game if he wants as much attention as Harry and Meghan are getting now.

Sorry I mixed the posts. Here I wished to write about how if William and Harry will not allow camila to be named queen may be the end of both of them.
Camila has integrated herself in the family and has accumulated some allies who hate Diana boys entitlement and midtons,
I think camila may engineer Charles to give up the throne and take away all the rights ofhis direct followers.
One year after the Queen dies until the coronation of a new King is like eternity. For one year the chair will be up for grabs.
If camila realises she will not be queen because of the two we may witness betrayal of father of his sobs or his lover.
Charles hates George, never really warmed up to charlotte. Do you think he will keep cool and control camila not to sell out info to the press in that one year that both princes are unfit, mentally, sarrugated kids and Gay rumours. The Internet will break in that one year until the coronation.
Camila was not able to celebrate her 70 birthday due to both boys. The Queen and pbilip were very silent in the all 20 years memorial events.
If they dont do something to stop them they will be declared criminals in thier Graves after William investigation and 69 years of service to the nation thrown in mud.
So I guess the race is to privide the boys will all the rope they need? Marry divorces, transgender, Gay and surrogate kids.. How will they pull it.
Although the press is saying Meg will bring lots of America capital, tourists, investors.
